Fight the Texas Takeover!
Grassroots organizations across Texas are mobilizing together to fight the takeover of our state from the actual voters.
North Texas Democrats, together with the Texas Progressive Caucus, Texas Young Dems, Texas Democratic Lawyers Association of Texas, Black Austin Democrats, Indivisible Dallas and Houston Black American Democrats got together and decided that the nation needs to meet the actual voters in Texas who are fighting, with two hands tied behind our back, blindfolded, and now with duct tape covering our mouths.
Sound grim?
It is, but we just keep fighting now matter how they gerrymander us and try to silence us! Wonder why our Congressional Representatives like Jasmine Crockett and Al Green are such firebrands? Or why this cute kid who talks like a preacher can even persuade Joe Rogan to start voting democratic? Cause they were all raised in the Texas House, the incubator for all voter supression.
So this is your chance to meet them in person and make a difference! We are thrilled to invite you to a crucial virtual event: Call to Action: Fight the Texas Takeover!
On August 19, 2025, at 7 PM CT, we will gather on Zoom to connect passionate volunteers, like you, with the organizations and elected officials on the front lines against the mid-decade gerrymander of Texas. This is your chance to get directly involved and help shape the future of our state and the county!

We will have several Democratic County Chairs, including Kelly Blackburn, chair of the Ellis County Democratic Party, the only county in Texas that actually got BLUER in 2024. You will also hear from other rural county democrats across the state, and hear from the organizers who are doing the really hard work of persuading voters and inviting state wide democrats to campaign in these rural spaces.
